In partnership with Wove Bike and Slowtwitch I am offering the side-by-side double BTS hydration setup using a CNC machined Carbon Fiber plate, compatible with the Wove TT V8 and M8 saddles. These will be made in small batches and/or “made to order”. Please allow a few weeks for delivery, if not in stock.
The pictures below are of the original (hand made) version. In the current product, the Carbon Fiber plates are CNC routed for a precise cut and good finish.
Benefits:
Low profile = easy to swing the leg over the saddle when mounting the bike in T1 (when optional risers are not used)
Simple, rigid solution. The CF plates simply rests solidly on the Wove saddle’s tail. (note: there is foam padding between the plate and the saddle tail to help protect your saddle.)
Premium feel: the CF plate complements well the aesthetics of the Wove saddle shell.
Very lightweight; The production run prototype (without risers) weigh in at approx. 107 grams including all the hardware except the cages, when using titanium cage screws (provided).
Transition Rack Hook:
Simple, stable, convenient and efficient way to rack your bike in transition.
The bracket under the saddle used to secure the plate mounting screws acts as a hook for the transition rack. This solves the typical issue of not being able to slide the bike under the rack when bottles are mounted above the saddle (not enough clearance under the rack). Tilting the bike to get through is not possible in tight transitions. This solves this issue!
With the hook, the bike simply sits on top of the rack behind the saddle.
In T1, simply lift slightly and pull forward to get the bike out.
Easy to handle bottles (much easier than handling a bottle in a cage under the saddle!)
Economical (compared to other solutions on the market).
Compatible with Wove Bike’s bottle retention loops.
Bottle Cage Riser kit included: 34 mm bottle cage spacers with stainless steel screws will be provided to use optionally (either for ease of access to the bottles, or for aerodynamics). Note: this adds up approx. 65g to the kit. (can be reduced to ~58g using titanium screws – not included)
Notes:
– There is very little fore-aft adjustment built in. The kit puts the cages right behind the seat padding. Minimal adjustments possible with the cage slots. The new CF plate has a bit of give too with slightly slotted holes.
– The angle of the bottle will match the tail of the saddle – but with a reasonable saddle tilt, the angle should be good for aerodynamics.
